Remove pieces that can be taken apart and put them side by side on the ground. Prepare a solution containing 1/2 cup mild detergent and 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket. Use a soft brush to clean the pieces of concrete fountains and remove dirt, then rinse well. Let everything dry for 15 minutes. Wash fountain with an industrial solvent. Use a larger object, such as a scrub brush to clean the fountain safely without chips concrete. Rinse and allow drying for another 15 minutes. It is important that the fountain is clean before painting.
Place curtains in the area where you will work to protect the soil from paint drips. Set the concrete fountain pieces on top of the cloth after cleaning them. Coat fountain spray cement paint using a sweeping motion. Most cement paints require at least three layers. Apply a spray waterproofed, according to the directions on the can, over the concrete fountains.
